Last week, Senator Bob Casey and Republican challenger Dave McCormick met for the second time on the debate stage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The debate, held by Action News, was moderated by anchors Matt O’Donnell and Sharrie Williams, along with Univision 65’s Ilia Garcia.
The economy, the border, and abortion were all topics discussed by the Senate candidates.
The debate was fiery, with both candidates exchanging insults and trying to discredit the other. McCormick attacked Casey for being a “status quo candidate”, saying he is a “weak, 30-year incumbent.” Casey went after McCormick for his hedge fund investments in a Chinese arms manufacturer linked to Iran.

McCormick explained that he wants to bring change to Washington after the economic issues he blamed on the Biden administration and Senator Casey. He mentioned “skyrocketing prices that are putting enormous pressure on most families.” He blames federal spending as the root cause of recent inflation.
Casey says he supports a middle-class tax cut and increasing the child tax credit. He is also against price gouging by large companies.
Dave McCormick is a former hedge fund CEO that served multiple roles focused on the treasury and national security in the Bush administration. He was slammed by Casey for his hedge fund investments, saying “If he’s going to talk about his record versus my record, his record is as a hedge fund CEO investing in China and our adversaries.”
Senator Bob Casey was first elected to serve in the Senate in 2006. He is a former state treasurer and auditor general. On Casey’s record, McCormick said he has voted “99% with Biden-Harris. One thing we learned in the Army on day one, you’ve got to take responsibility for your actions – he’s not.”
