While they started slow, entering halftime down 10-7, the Steelers finished the game in total control.
The Steelers defense again held the opponent to a paltry number of points, giving up only 26 points across three games this campaign. T.J. Watt recorded a key sack in the first half, reaching 99.5 in his career. If he breaks 100 soon, he will be the second-youngest player to hit triple digits, behind Packers legend Reggie White. Overall, the defense contained the rushing attack, led by J.K. Dobbins, that had been leading the league in rush yards entering Sunday’s game. The defense played just 15 snaps in the second half because of the strength of the offense.
A dominating rush game in the second half, especially the fourth quarter, was the story of the match. Najee Harris ended the day with 70 yards on 18 carries, with a long of 21 yards that came on the final drive, icing the game for the Steelers. Cordarelle Patterson added 33 yards on four carries as well.
In the air, Justin Fields had his best statistical game yet for the Steelers, passing for 245 yards and a touchdown.
A 3-0 start has only happened 8 times in Steelers history since 1970. The previous seven teams won the division title.
