Steelers Down the New York Jets with Trump in Attendance

Former President and Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump was in a VIP box for the Steelers primetime home game against the New York Jets on Sunday night. He watched along as Russell Wilson led the Steelers to a dominant victory over the New York Jets 37-15 in his first start.

Trump arrived in the middle of the first quarter with the home team down 3-7 against the visiting Jets. Trump was shown briefly on the NBC broadcast of Sunday Night Football and fans in front of his VIP booth cheered for him

The game was just his latest foray into Steelers culture this week. Trump held a victory rally in Latrobe Pennsylvania with former Steelers superstars Antonio Brown and LeVeon Bell on Saturday. Brown and Bell both endorsed the former President, and Brown gave short remarks to the gathered crowd.

Brown and Bell also attended a voter registration tailgate in support of Trump prior to Sunday’s game. The tailgate was hosted by the group Turning Point USA.

During the third quarter of the game, a female fan ran on the field during the game while holding a sign that read, “Trump, secure border. Kamala open border.” She was able to get to the 40-yard line before she was grabbed by security and escorted out of the stadium.

Following the game, Trump posted an AI-generated image to his TruthSocial account which pictured him playing for the Steelers. The image created a mild social media storm when Newsweek picked up the image to call it misinformation writing, “There is no evidence this ever occurred.”
